During the short days and long dark nights in Winter, Amsterdam becomes a place of Magic and Wonder. Over 20 Light Art Works will be shown in and around the city’s Canals.

Imagine yourself: A warm glass of gluhwein in your hands, the sound of water lapping softly against the sides of the boat as we drift beneath Amsterdam’s iconic bridges, Magical Artworks and past its magnificent 17th-century canal houses.

On board this amazingly comfortable and quiet electric boat, you’ll have heated seats, gluhwein (mulled wine), a panoramic view of the city, and a front-row seat to these wonderful art exhibitions. Especially, as onboard you can go up close and even through these pieces!

For the last five years, we have been closely involved with this festival. Some of us know these artists personally! We’ll discuss the artist’s inspiration, what moves them, and what they want to express through their work. We’ll share ideas, insights, and opinions and hopefully, we’ll all leave more inspired, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about art and what it can offer us. So, join us, and let us show you the city, her canals, the light festival, and why we are so passionate about art.

Besides all the Light Artworks we also visit some of the main highlights that Amsterdam offers in the Evening. Like the Seven Bridges, The Unesco World Heritage Canal gordel, and some of the most beautiful scenes at night.

“In Winter the boat will be closed with a roof and look through windows, we have heated seats, warm blankets, and heating in the boat. So you will be dry and warm at all times”

Fantastic!

Rocco keeps the groups small and makes it a personalized tour. I was thankful I booked with him and not one on a larger boat. We were able to step out on the deck easily to take pictures. What a fantastic and relaxing way to see Amsterdam!

A fantastic boat driver

Rocco is a knowledgable, sensitive and just lovely guide who also happens to be a fantastic boat driver which was needed tonight on our trip to see the light art on the canals. His love for the city and the arts is clear and well communicated. A wonderful trip, enjoyed by us both. Many thanks.

Unique experience.

Rocco was extremely knowledgeable and encouraged discussion and reflection on the art. The boat was cozy (despite the weather) and the views unique... floating under, alongside and through the installations. We really enjoyed this unique experience.

Definitely recommend!

Awesome! Rocco really knows the canals and is an excellent host. The boat is cozy, and the treats were delicious. The art is so beautiful to see up close in the water, and getting to hear the context behind the pieces was great.

Best way to experience the artwork!

Rocco was a great guide! Very welcoming and personable. He provided bits of Amsterdam history along with the light art explanations and was great at fostering conversation about the pieces as well as among the group. We really enjoyed the tour and agree that it was the best way to experience the artwork!

Cozy, personal experience!

Looking for a cozy, personal canal cruise with delicious hot chocolate? You’ve found it! Rocco’s canal cruise is a gem in Amsterdam. He created a comfortable atmosphere (i boarded solo and left with a couple of new companions) and gave us insight on each piece in the Amsterdam Winter Light Festival. I’m really happy that I toured the canals with him and grateful he provides this experience! I would 100% do another canal cruise with Rocco.
